Why do computers need PSU?
Personal computers are currently growing rapidly. Even a novice user will falter if he sees a list of components that must be considered when buying or even when assembling a new computer. The fact that one of the crucial components in a computer is the power supply unit, or it can be abbreviated as PSU. The power supply unit is the core work of the computer because it flows power from the electrical socket to the components inside the computer, such as the processor, RAM (Random Access Memory), GPU, hard disk, and other components inside the computer. The power supply unit works by dividing power into all components inside the CPU in order to support computer performance.
A common factor seen by laypersons is the amount of wattage from the power supply unit itself. For now, the standard power supply unit has a capacity of 500 Watt. Why is the power supply capacity of 500-watt units which for laypeople is already large enough, for computer technicians or people who understand computers, it is not enough? Because, for example, users want to upgrade from a processor, only need to buy the processor, install it on the motherboard, apply thermal paste, and the computer can be used with new components. So, my opinion is, use a power supply that has good quality and adjusts to the needs of the computer to be used. For normal use without playing video games or editing, a 500-watt power supply is sufficient. Above that, start using a power supply starting from 750-watt.
There have been many computer component companies that provide the highest quality power supply. For example, Corsair. It has long been trusted by gamers to produce good products, and, myself, I believe that products from Corsair are already good. One way to choose a power supply from the Corsair brand is to pay attention to the wattage and its power supply series. Is it Gold, or Platinum. Usually Gold is used as the standard to intermediate usage. While the Platinum used the use of the medium to middle up. Starting from playing video games to doing video editing, usually using the power supply from the Platinum series.
